Drugs to Induce Eargasms

Sometimes I wonder why music is legal. Music can alter your mood and your body chemistry just like any illegal drug.

–Scott Adams

Thankfully, the Thought Pol haven’t yet honed in on this illicit drug that we all love so much, and play so much here at KBGA.

Read the entire blog post.

Oh, and be sure to scroll down to the comments for gems like this HST knockoff:

“We had two bags of CDs, seventy-five tracks of Santana, five sheets of high-powered music lyrics, an ipod half-full of the Doobies, and a whole multi colored collection of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers… Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw Eagles, and two dozen Amy Lee. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious music collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the Eagles. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an Eagles binge, and I knew we’d get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.”

As you may know, I have a small shop on Etsy.com, and in my browsing through other artists’ shopfronts, I found this great vendor: Cricket Press. They have print posters for various gigs and the quality of design is really wonderful. Some of the music artists I found there include Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Pearl Jam, Mogwai, Andrew Bird and more. You can visit their personal wesbite, or their Etsy shopfront. And remember, winter holiday gift giving orgy is nigh upon us. Why not support your local, or DIY artist?

Take a vacation at the Beach House away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Let the Baltimore duo of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally take you to a new place, a unique place where slow hazy pop fills the room with organs, slide guitars, reverb, echoes and simple yet unforgettable melodies.

Thursday Nov. 9th

Beach House and Over the Atlantic (Carpark Records) with locals The Legendary Lynn T. Spü

An evening with Kraftwerk

This coming monday October 30th, I will skip the Studio Kinda Cloudy to present a special show for Missoula ears only 8-10 pm. The theme will be the music of Kraftwerk. I will attempt to stay pre 1980, with the greatest concentration on the 1970-1975 period.

So, in the spirit of community radio, if you enjoy Krautrock please post a favorite so I’ll remember to play it just for you!

Unlimited love from your DJ,
skritch

Outrageously un-PC guy from, yes, Brooklyn. Check out these vids. Completely over the top, and completely entertaining. Wow.
