Through Seasons of Sorrow

White by Emzee & Silas, released 30 September 2020 White on white Far as you could see Would you dream of a different color Climbing hills that won't be there for too much longer Not beneath this sun What did you prove leaving home all alone Even, even the trees

Maria Zepeda, the lead singer of Emzee and Silas, uses her art as a form of self healing. Captivating her listeners in warm waves of honesty, Zepeda speaks on themes such as anxiety, depression and sexuality.  Zepeda’s songs hold the weight of familiarity: capturing the deja-vu of aching memories.

“That's something that's been really powerful about this project. I've been able to really let all of these parts of me out. To really just be like, this is me… This is who I am. And there's no holding back anymore. And that's been a really healing process for me,” Zepeda says.

Horns are featured throughout the album, dancing around the strength of Zepeda’s voice. Guitar is the backbone of the album, supporting layers of sound in underlying chords. Snappy snare frames the album in enthusiastic rhythms.

Through Seasons of Sorrow will be released on streaming platforms January 31st.
